It is the mission of Gateway Christian School, in partnership with Christian parents and strong Bible-believing churches, to help children come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, determining to follow His will for their lives. We believe we can best do this by training them spiritually, academically, socially, and physically to grow in the nurture and admonition of the Lord according to Biblical truth.
Spiritual maturity and academic excellence are the main objectives of Gateway Christian school. It is the philosophy of GCS that each student who enters our classrooms will be a better student (academically and behaviorally) as they grow in their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Academically, GCS incorporates a very traditional philosophy. The teacher is the authority in the classroom, students are at school to learn, and parents play a vital role in the overall academic process. Gateway students perform well within these educational structures, knowing that the teacher has their best interest at heart. They are also expected to succeed in this learning process and parents will be informed regularly of student progress to ensure the best opportunity for success.
As Christian educators, we agree that it is our job to find out what God thinks and then "think God’s thoughts after Him" (Sir Issac Newton). Science, History, Language, Math, and all other subjects are taught in light of God’s Word and are for the purpose of knowing God and serving Him better. God’s Word is the final authority in all subject matter taught at GCS. It is our philosophy that GCS students need to be students of the Word in faith and practice. It is this emphasis on God’s Word that makes Gateway different from the public schools and many other private or "Christian" schools in our area.
With a total enrollment approaching 500 students, GCS offers classes in high school, middle school, elementary school, kindergarten and preschool. The curriculum stresses academic excellence and encourages the development of individual talents.
